Joint Congress of WAA and SFH

Cerus was present at the International Joint Congress of the World Apheresis Association (WAA) and the French Society of Hemapheresis (SFH), which took place at Les Cordeliers – Faculty of Medicine in Paris, France, from 27 to 29 April 2016.

On 27 April, a Cerus symposium on ‘The need for increased safety for large volume plasma and RBC exchange therapies’  took place in the Amphithéâtre Farabeuf, from 1.20 to 2.20pm. The symposium comprised two presentations: Dr. Mario Ojeda-Uribe, from the Groupe Hospitalier de la région de Mulhouse Sud-Alsace, presented ‘Efficacy and electrocardiographic events of plasma exchange with amotosalen-UVA and quarantine plasma for the treatment of autoimmune TTP’, followed by Prof. Dr. John Porter from the University College London, who talked about ‘Indications and complications of RBC exchanges in SCD and other red cell disorders’.
